I've had to deal with web rebates for different vendors: Office Depot, Kensington, and Linksys. Office depot rebates seem to be very slow but show up quickly. Kensington rebate was a nighmare. Had to resubmit 3 times! First time it wasn't received, I was given a different resubmission address to send copies to. After that wasn't received either, I called back and was given a fax number I could fax everything to. After faxing it in, it did show up pretty quickly but I dont understand why they would make me mail everything again when I could have just been given the fax number to resubmit the first time! Even after it showed up in their system though, rebate took a very long time to arrive. But I guess it worked out in the end because they ended up sending me two checks for some reason (I guess because of all the resubmission mess). So product ended up being free but after about 4-5 months of waiting. |

Processed by Pargo but processed slower than for other vendors (i.e. Symantec). Also Pargo's rejection rate for CA rebates is 50% in my experience (A LOT higher than with others). But again, its very easy to get rejected rebates validated without having to even resubmit anything. Just go to their site, click on Contact us and submit (dont really even need to explain anything). |

They use Pargo for their rebate processing but return times for Symantec/Norton rebates from Pargo seem to be a LOT quicker than others. Also their rejections are more valid than others like Computer Associates who are also processed by Pargo but seem to reject for random reasons. |

Some of the fastest rebates in my experience - I think maybe because most I have submitted have been for gift cards (which means as soon as I get it, Ill be back in their store to spend it + more). Best Buy does seem to do a lot of Gift Cards instead of cash rebates like with cell phones, high speed internet connections, etc. I wish they had a Staples type easy rebate process. |

I like the online pre-submission so if things get lost in the mail, there is still a record to keep track of. They are very random though and will usually just randomly reject rebates that were complete and properly submitted. I think they do this because they hope people will just forget and not follow up which is money in their pockets. But they are very easy to get fixed with a simple email. Usually don't even need to explain or resubmit anything, they'll just automatically validate a rebate if you take the time to contact them if your rebate was rejected. |
